Since
forming in late 1999, Boston Horns have become one of the premier
acts in the NorthEast. Former members of the legendary Heavy Metal
Horns, Henley Douglas jr. (sax) and Garret Savluk (trumpet) lead
this 6-piece funk ensemble with a supporting cast of phenomenal
veteran musicians. Boston Horns feature groove oriented original
instrumental and vocal music, blending R&B with old school funk,
soul, and jazz.
Over the past year Boston Horns have performed at wide range of
venues and festivals. Highlights include the Regatta Bar, Ryles,
Johnny D's Uptown, Berklee Performance Center (First Night: Boston
2002), Lowell Winterfest, and the Mountain Boogie Music Festival.
Boston Horns wee been invited to perform at the Discover Jazz
Festival 2002, Burlington Vermont.
The heart and soul of
this music transcends genre. Boston Horns always heat up any scene
with their unique brand of funk! They were nominated as "outstanding
funk band" at the Boston Music Awards 2002.
