Les
Wheeler and The JV All-Stars, a band comprised of Reid Genauer's
Assembly of Dust members Andy Herrick (drums), John Leccese
(bass), Adam Terrell (guitar) and Nate Wilson (organ) working out on
some classic rock, funk, and soul tunes in organ jazz style, a la
Grant Green and Jimmy Smith. This band is Wilson's tribute to organ
groove, in the Jimmy Smith greasy Hammond B3 sense of the term, now
brought to modern flavor by the likes of Soulive, whose organ player
Neal Evans, Wilson describes as "simply incredible." The project
came to fruition with his fellow band mates and close friends in AOD
as an outlet for Wilson to let loose on the organ and blend in with
the soulful sound he's been so inspired by of late. The line-up
includes Percy Hill’s
John Leccese and Nate Wilson as well as Moon Boot Lover’s Andy
Herrick and Adam Terrell.
Reid Genauer's Assembly of Dust has been touring the music festival
circuit all summer including the sixth annual BerkFest in Great
Barrington, MA on 8/16, two nights at The Vermont Alternative Energy
Festival in Randolph, VT on 8/22 and 8/23, Strangefolk's Garden of
Eden Festival in Plattsburgh, NY on 8/30,
MOE.DOWN4 in Turin, NY
on 8/31 and the fifth annual Wormtown Music Festival in Greenfield,
MA on 9/19.
