What can you say about a band that's been together since 1986? Plenty. While many bands come and go within a few years, (Savoy) Truffle is in it for the long haul. They are players and entertainers; it's what they do!  Together they have logged a million miles. Playing in over 40 states across the country, they have done as many as 275 shows in one year. You could write a book about the experiences they have shared.

Truffle has worked to achieve widespread popularity all over the U.S. as well as headlining many respected venues (Great American Music Hall, 328 Performance Hall, Fox Theatre and Roseland Ballroom). They have shared the stage with Little Feat, Phish, The Band, Blues Traveler, Dave Matthews Band, Spin Doctors, Buckwheat Zydeco, Arlo Guthrie, Widespread Panic, Merl Saunders and Baba Ulatundje to name a few.

Joining in 1996, Mike Gendron is the drummer who rounds out the electric Truffle sound. His fat driving style has earned him a seat with The Drifters, as well as opening positions with national acts such as Taj Mahal, Dave Mason, Steve Forbert and Robin Trower. Mike has also lent his talents to ten recording projects including Gerard's "Losing The Boy",  “Memory Hill.” and Truffle's Latest "Out Loud".

Truffle has released four albums, “Dish Me In,”  “Talking With Ghosts,” and “Nervous Laughter” (for the November/Sony label). Their latest effort, Truffle "Out Loud", finds the band forging ahead into the new century with this live 2000 release. This eclectic album shows the versatility and strength of Truffle's live shows. They have also contributed to the “Live at the Stone Church, Vol. II” compilation as well as Gerard's two solo releases, “Memory Hill" and "Losing The Boy".

A Truffle performance is a physical experience. There is an energy that exists between the band and the audience, which cannot be described by the materials involved here. With dashes of R&B, reggae, bluegrass, soul, and Cajun thrown into the Truffle stew, you need to come and experience this band for yourself.

The members of Truffle

Dave Gerard - vocals/acoustic and electric guitars David Bailey - bass/vocals
